Soccer Game Preview: Armstrong vs. Varina

The Armstrong Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Varina Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Armstrong played against James Monroe on Monday and lost via forfeit.

Varina is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to Thomas Jefferson.

This is the second loss in a row for Armstrong and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1. As for Varina, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Armstrong's way against Varina when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Armstrong made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
