Basketball Recap: Eureka Takes a Loss

Eureka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Smith Valley Bulldogs and fell 59-16. The matchup marked the Vandals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Eureka's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3. As for Smith Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eureka and Hug will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Smith Valley will take on Sierra Lutheran in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
