Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Margaretta Polar Bears

Edison is 0-10 against Margaretta since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Edison Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Margaretta Polar Bears at 7:30 p.m. Edison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Margaretta is ranked 50th).

Last Thursday, Edison suffered a rough 63-39 loss at the hands of Port Clinton. Edison has not had much luck with Port Clinton recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

The losing side was boosted by Jorja Byington, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Booth, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Margaretta had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They took down Willard 46-32.

Edison has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Margaretta, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Things could have been worse for Edison, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-25 loss to Margaretta in their previous matchup back in January. Can Edison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
