Softball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Ankeny Centennial

Valley faced Ankeny Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Tigers fell 8-4 to the Jaguars. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2018.

Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Ankeny Centennial, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Jaguars beat Valley by a score of 8-0 later that day.
