Basketball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Umatilla on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to the Umatilla Vikings. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Riverside lost, don't look at Justien Tido. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Riverside has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Umatilla, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside has already played their next game (against Vale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Umatilla has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Nyssa.
