Volleyball Game Preview: Devils Lake Firebirds vs. Langdon/Edmore/Munich

The Devils Lake Firebirds will square off against Langdon/Edmore/Munich at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Devils Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Nedrose as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Firebirds not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0).

Devils Lake was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-10.

Devils Lake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brynlee Wolf out in front who had six digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Wolf a new career-high. Julia McIvor was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Devils Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Langdon/Edmore/Munich sidestepped Grafton for a 2-1 victory.

Devils Lake's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8-1. As for Langdon/Edmore/Munich, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1.
