Baseball Recap: P.K. Yonge Starts off Right with Win over Oak Hall

P.K. Yonge had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Oak Hall Eagles with a sharp 10-4 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Blue Wave have posted against the Eagles since March 5, 2020.

Darius Medley made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Medley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Preston Splitt was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Oak Hall's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

P.K. Yonge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-0 defeat against Gainesville on the 14th. As for Oak Hall, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-0 loss against The Villages Charter on the 18th.
