Football Game Preview: Olympic Heights Lions vs. Park Vista Cobras

Olympic Heights is 0-3 against Park Vista since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Lions will challenge the Cobras at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Olympic Heights took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 36-12 margin over Somerset Academy Key. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Olympic Heights considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Matthew Condon was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards. Rhys Lewis helped out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Olympic Heights was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Somerset Academy Key only rushed for 85.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Olympic Heights' defense and their eight sacks. Somerset Academy Key's QB won't forget Drew Loeb anytime soon given he sacked him four times. Thanks to that big game, Loeb is now up to 7 sacks on the season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Park Vista and Lake Worth meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Cobras enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over the Trojans. The Cobras' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Park Vista's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Olympic Heights, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Olympic Heights took a serious blow against Park Vista in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 49-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Cobras' Elisha Gamble, who rushed for 177 yards and one score on only nine carries. Now that the Lions know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
