Basketball Recap: Lab University Prep Regional Skates Past Elevation Prep Academy with Ease

Lab University Prep Regional waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers to the tune of 70-41. Given the Kings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Honey Badgers are ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lab University Prep Regional's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raphael Beasley, who posted 22 points and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Beasley a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Connor, who scored 16 points.

Several Honey Badgers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DIDIER ILUNGA, who earned six points and four steals. Another player making a difference was DEVON MARTIN, who had eight points.

Lab University Prep Regional is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Elevation Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Lab University Prep Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-59 defeat against Moravian Prep Regional on the 31st. As for Elevation Prep Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-25 loss against Winston Salem Christian National on the 28th.
