Football Recap: La Sierra Eagles vs. Ramona Rams
La Sierra fell victim to Ramona and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Rams. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Steven Moore threw for 129 yards on eight of 21 attempts. John Mathis was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, Shawn Childs rushed for 49 yards.
Lorenzo Sims was his usual excellent self, rushing for 194 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries for Ramona. Sims is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 141 every time he's taken the field this season. Isaac Mata also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
La Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Ramona, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
La Sierra has already played their next matchup, a 52-28 win against Jurupa Valley on the 16th. As for Ramona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 30-27 defeat against Norte Vista on the 18th.
