Cuba/Spoon River Valley dropped down to 12-5 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Biggsville West Central Heat by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Heat apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Grace Yaste paced Cuba/Spoon River Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Yaste got some help from Kacie White and her eight assists. Mollie Cornell controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

As for Biggsville West Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since October 14, 2024.

Addy Burrell was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten digs and one assist.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Elmwood on the 11th. As for Biggsville West Central, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Illini West on the 11th.
