Football Recap: Bishop Foley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Bishop Foley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were outmatched by the Cabrini Monarchs and fell 40-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ventures of the 28-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop Foley lost, don't look at Robert Gjonaj. Despite the final result, he rushed for 73 yards and one TD.

As for Cabrini, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Evan Bergdoll produced another solid performance throwing for 234 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushing for 42 yards. Those 42 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. 113 of Bergdoll's passing yards were hauled in by Lander Emerick, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Coming up, Bishop Foley will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shrine Catholic at 7:00 p.m. The Knights' defense has only allowed 11.3 points per game this season, so the Ventures' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cabrini, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cardinal Mooney Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Monarchs will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
