On Thursday, Perry faced Valley Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Perry Pumas fell just short of the Valley Christian Trojans by a score of 11-10. The Pumas' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Rowen Noreus was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Luke Calendo and Lou Berg stepped up to the plate in a big way. Calendo scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Berg scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Calendo a new career-high in stolen bases. Ryan Davie was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, Perry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matches.
