Baseball Recap: Omaha Northwest Huskies vs. Omaha Central Eagles
Omaha Northwest extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-12 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Omaha Central Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Huskies' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
As for Omaha Central, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
For Omaha Central's part, Grant Hamill tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hamill has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Neujahr, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Mark Ripp also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
