Football Recap: State College Little Lions vs. Cedar Cliff Colts
State College won the last time they faced Cedar Cliff and things went their way on Friday too. The Little Lions enjoyed a cozy 36-21 win over the Colts. Given the Little Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Colts are ranked 145th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead State College to victory, but perhaps none more so than D'Antae Sheffey, who rushed for 152 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Sheffey's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 rushing yards. Daimear Coad also helped out with an impressive 95 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: State College was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
State College didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Anderson Aj Fry and Hank Lustig. State College got some further help from Trayce Brennan: he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles.
Despite the loss, Cedar Cliff still got an impressive performance from Landon Howell, who rushed for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Colts are 2-1 when Howell posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.
State College's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.7 points on average over those games. As for Cedar Cliff, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Looking ahead, State College will square off against Central Dauphin East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Little Lions are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cedar Cliff, they will face off against Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
