Softball Recap: Mark Morris' Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to 30

Mark Morris strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Hudson's Bay Eagles get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Makenzie Henthorn and Shyanne Sellers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Henthorn pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sellers struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Henthorn got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Sellers went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Henthorn also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Mark Morris got a massive performance out of Megan Fugleberg, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Fugleberg has posted since back in May of 2024. Mikaila Warfield was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Mark Morris pushed their record up to 17-0 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hudson's Bay, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
