Softball Recap: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Clinton Prairie Gophers

Clinton Central was the 12-3 winner over Clinton Prairie when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs came up short against the Gophers on Thursday, falling 15-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered against the Gophers since May 4, 2021.

Carly Davison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Long, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Clinton Central now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Clinton Prairie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Clinton Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-5 loss against Southmont on the 9th. As for Clinton Prairie, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against North Montgomery on the 9th.
