Baseball Recap: Carmel Christian Takes a Loss

Carmel Christian saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell just short of the South Lakes Seahawks by a score of 4-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carmel Christian got a good showing from Anderson Rider, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rider has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carmel Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leyton Guhl, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Carmel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for South Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carmel Christian will face off against Union Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for South Lakes, they will challenge James Madison at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
