Basketball Game Preview: Douglass Eagles vs. St. Charles

St. Charles is hoping to do what New Town couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Douglass' winning streak, which now stands at four games. Douglass managed a 60-54 victory over New Town.

Douglass got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Khloe Thomas out in front who went 9 for 15 on her way to 20 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Naiy'Lah Crutchfield, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine blocks.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Charles, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 65-13 victory over Calvert. St. Charles has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 27 points or more this season.

St. Charles' win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Douglass, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Douglass was taken down by St. Charles 79-31 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Douglass, McKenzie Thomas (who went 10 of 19 on her way to 23 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks) won't be suiting up this time.
