Central triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Lia Sims

Recap: Central Bobcats vs. North Canyon Rattlers

The Central Bobcats's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They secured a 46-40 W over North Canyon. This was payback for Central, who suffered a 59-46 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lia Sims continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 21 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Central's points. Amber Shorten was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

North Canyon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lanaya McCloud, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Adams, who scored ten points along with eight assists and two steals.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for North Canyon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Central will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Metro Tech at 5:30 p.m. Metro Tech has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for North Canyon, they will head out on the road to challenge Fairfax at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairfax will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
