Baseball Recap: Stadium Comes Up Short

After flying high against Auburn on Tuesday, Stadium came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 8-3 to the Trojans on Wednesday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 8-1.

Finn Wood made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Makhai Merton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Stadium dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Auburn, their record now sits at an identical 4-11.

Coming up, Stadium will head out to challenge Emerald Ridge at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Auburn, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Auburn Mountainview at 7:00 p.m. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
