Baseball Recap: Mark Twain Comes Up Short

Mark Twain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Monroe City Panthers, falling 19-10. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Landen Armour and Nolan Epperson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Armour got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Epperson went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Eli Snodgrass, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mark Twain's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Monroe City, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Mark Twain will face off against Community at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monroe City, they will take on Louisiana at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
