Kendall Zarate posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. He struck out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has become a key player for Oroville: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least ten strikeouts, but 2-13 otherwise.

Zarate and Oroville will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Las Plumas at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Tigers have some work to do to even out the 1-9 series between these two since April of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
