It was a good run, but St. Joseph Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 60-51 to the Strongsville Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Mustangs are ranked fourth).

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Wearsch, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Melanie Alvarenga, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 15 points.

St. Joseph Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Strongsville, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

St. Joseph Academy has already played their next game, a 50-12 victory against St. Ursula Academy on the 18th. As for Strongsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-50 win against Jackson on the 18th.
