Softball Recap: Teutopolis Takes a Loss

Teutopolis fell victim to Flora and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wooden Shoes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Alyssa Tipton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Teutopolis' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5. As for Flora, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Teutopolis will take on Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Farina South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
