Baseball Recap: Owyhee Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Middleton

Owyhee faced Middleton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Storm fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Storm have suffered against the Vikings since May 9, 2023.

Kaleb Doty was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Owyhee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Haws, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Owyhee's defeat dropped their record down to 28-4. As for Middleton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Owyhee nor Middleton have any future games scheduled.
