Football Recap: West Lafayette Takes a Loss

West Lafayette was the 34-28 winner over McCutcheon when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Devils came up short against the Mavericks on Friday, falling 31-6.

Despite the loss, West Lafayette still got an impressive performance from Kojo Steffey, who rushed for 82 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.

Tyler Brigham had a dynamite game For McCutcheon., rushing for 129 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 43 receiving yards. Brigham really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.

West Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for McCutcheon, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lafayette will square off against Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McCutcheon, they will face off against Lafayette Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
