Football Recap: Brookesmith Takes a Loss

Brookesmith played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Bluff Dale Bobcats, falling 69-6. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Bobcats are ranked 74th).

Bluff Dale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Wentworth out in front who rushed for 104 yards and three TDs on only five carries. Wentworth's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Alex Saucedo also deserves a shout-out for his four scores.

Brookesmith now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Bluff Dale, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Brookesmith has already played their next contest, a 54-44 victory against Olfen on the 3rd. As for Bluff Dale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 60-19 win against Grace Classical Christian Academy on the 2nd.
