Baseball Game Preview: Canton Bulldogs vs. Foxborough Warriors

Canton hasn't had much luck against Foxborough recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 3:45 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Canton took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against King Philip Regional, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 2-1.

Canton's victory was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Gibbons, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Foxborough and Milford, and Foxborough kept the tradition alive. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Scarlet Hawks 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since March 27th.

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Foxborough, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
