Softball Recap: West Carrollton Comes Up Short

West Carrollton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-8 to the Sidney Yellowjackets. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked the Pirates' highest-scoring contest to date.

Kuryn Riley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Peyton Joseph was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

West Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Sidney, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

While West Carrollton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
