Basketball Game Preview: Taylor Allderdice Dragons vs. New Castle Hurricanes

The Taylor Allderdice Dragons and the New Castle Hurricanes will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Taylor Allderdice was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 66-60 to Butler. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Dragons still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, New Castle put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They had just enough and edged Butler out 62-60. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Golden Tornado are ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taylor Allderdice has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for New Castle, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Taylor Allderdice took their victory against New Castle in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 by a conclusive 65-45. Does Taylor Allderdice have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Castle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
