Baseball Recap: Colorado Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colorado Academy). They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over The Academy Wildcats on Tuesday. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The result came thanks to Kieran Delaney's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ben Bridich, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Riley Summers, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Colorado Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Colorado Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for The Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Colorado Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
