Evan Slaven posted a new career-high in doubles on Monday. He went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, nine RBI, and three runs, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He is becoming a predictor of Western Reserve's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

Slaven's strong effort led Western Reserve over McKinley and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are limping into the matchup having lost six straight on the road dating back to last season.
