Recap: Higley Knights vs. Horizon Huskies
On Friday, The Higley Knights faced the Horizon Huskies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Higley was the victim of a tough 28-6 loss at the hands of Horizon. It was the first time this season that Higley let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Higley still got an impressive performance from Daxen Hall, who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Hall is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Among those leading the charge was Anthony Segura, who rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Horizon also got a significant boost from Bodie Zamorano, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 125 yards.
Horizon's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Segura and his two sacks.
Higley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Horizon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Higley will head out on the road to face off against Desert Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert Mountain is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Horizon, they will be playing at home against Cactus Shadows at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cactus Shadows is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
