Basketball Recap: Dymally's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Dymally can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears by a score of 61-52. That's more bragging rights for the Challengers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Port of Los Angeles lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Adham Samir, who posted 14 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Samir a new career-high in points. Juno Kovarik was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Dymally's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Port of Los Angeles, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Dymally will venture away from home to challenge Harbor Teacher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dymally has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Port of Los Angeles, they will square off against Jordan at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Jordan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
