Basketball Game Preview: Lockport Lions vs. Orchard Park Quakers

Lockport is 0-3 against Orchard Park since February of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Lockport Lions will square off against the Orchard Park Quakers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Lockport was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 71-66 to Kenmore West. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Orchard Park waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 75-60 victory over the Eagles. Given the Quakers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Eagles are ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Orchard Park pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Lockport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Lockport came up short against Orchard Park in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 61-54. Can Lockport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
