Volleyball Recap: Appleton East Triumphs

Appleton East posted their closest win since September 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Ashwaubenon Jaguars 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Adina DePagter paced Appleton East's offense, picking up eight kills. DePagter got some help from Addison Kiekhaefer and her 12 assists. Kiekhaefer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Appleton East's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Ashwaubenon, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Appleton East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Chilton on the 26th. As for Ashwaubenon, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on De Pere at 7:00 p.m. on September 9.
