See the Duke commit jam it home with authority.

Duke was in desperate need of a point guard. Not anymore.

The Blue Devils snagged the second-rated one in the country Monday when Trevon Duval of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) pledged to them in a commitment video shown by The Players' Tribune. The decision was not much of a surprise, as most experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball (which carried 89 percent of Crystal Ball predictions) had Duval pegged for Duke.

The nation's No. 5 overall prospect chose Duke over Arizona, Baylor, Kansas and Seton Hall. He became the Blue Devils' sixth commit in the 2017 Class — and their highest-rated recruit.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound point guard averaged 17 points, 7.7 assists and four rebounds per game for the No. 4 Ascenders.

Duval earned MaxPreps All-American honors once again this year. He also participated in the McDonald's All-American Game and Nike Hoop Summit following the 2016-17 season.
