Baseball Recap: Winchester Thurston Takes a Loss

Winchester Thurston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Western Beaver Golden Beavers.

Austin Lenhardt-Barley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Sam Hammons also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Winchester Thurston's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Western Beaver, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

While Winchester Thurston had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
