Basketball Recap: Tristan Garner Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Coal City

Southland College Prep won the last time they faced Coal City and things went their way on Tuesday too. Southland College Prep walked away with a 60-51 victory over Coal City. The win made it back-to-back victories for Southland College Prep.

Southland College Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Garner led the charge by putting up 13 points along with five assists and five boards. Aiden Mells was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 12 points.

Southland College Prep's record now sits at 2-0. As for Coal City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Southland College Prep will be taking part in a tournament against Gardner-South Wilmington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coal City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lisle at 6:45 p.m. on December 5.
