Baseball Recap: Rocky Ford Takes a Loss

Rocky Ford lost against Crowley County back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Meloneers came up short against the Chargers, falling 16-0. The Meloneers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

Rocky Ford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shayne Gonzales, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Rocky Ford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Crowley County, they moved to 11-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Ford will head out to square off against Hoehne at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crowley County, they will venture away from home to take on Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
