Basketball Recap: South Lyon Comes Up Short

If South Lyon was feeling good fresh off their 65-40 takedown of Kettering last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Lyon Lions took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walled Lake Western Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-37 back in December of 2024.

South Lyon has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Walled Lake Western, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.

South Lyon and Walled Lake Western could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. South Lyon (ranked 396th) will meet South Lyon East (ranked 175th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Walled Lake Western will challenge Glen Lake at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday down 336 places (375 vs. 39).
