Baseball Game Preview: Burkburnett Bulldogs vs. Castleberry Lions

For the second straight game, Burkburnett will face off against Castleberry. Burkburnett will venture away from home to take on Castleberry at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Burkburnett after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Castleberry by a score of 5-4.

Caden Cope made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Mason Williams was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Castleberry has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That lines up perfectly with their 13-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. Burkburnett has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
