Columbine extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-3. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 48-9 victory over the Denver East Angels. The contest marked the Rebels' most dominant win of the season.

Leading Columbine to victory were Lucas Gonzales and Mark Snyder. Gonzales rushed for 65 yards and a pair of scores, while Snyder rushed for 63 yards and two TDs on only five carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Snyder has posted since back in November of 2024. James Himes got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Columbine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 224 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Columbine didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jesse Adame and Himes. Himes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Denver East, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Columbine is ranked 39th).

When it comes to explaining why Denver East lost, don't look at Khairoh Johnson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 89 yards on only 12 carries.

Looking ahead, Columbine will square off against Arvada West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Denver East, they will challenge Chatfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Angels will be up against the Chargers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
