Volleyball Recap: Riverside Prep Takes a Loss

Riverside Prep suffered their biggest loss since September 11th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Hesperia Christian Patriots. The Silver Knights have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Riverside Prep was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-15.

Juliet Pluma paced Riverside Prep's offense, picking up ten kills. Pluma got some help from Denia Yarber and her seven assists. Finally, Leahna Ortega Flores kept Riverside Prep's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Riverside Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Hesperia Christian, the victory was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-5.

Riverside Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Big Bear on the 8th. As for Hesperia Christian, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against University Prep on the 9th.
