Soccer Game Preview: James Lick vs. Prospect

The James Lick Comets will venture away from home to face off against the Prospect Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. James Lick's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Back in December of 2024, James Lick didn't have quite enough to beat Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 558th, while the Lions are ranked 193rd).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Prospect challenged Woodside on Friday. Prospect took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodside.

James Lick now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Prospect, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-2.

James Lick beat Prospect by a goal when the teams last played back in February of 2015, winning 2-1. Does James Lick have another victory up their sleeve, or will Prospect turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
