Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Maryvale

Maryvale is still undefeated this season after their contest against Amherst Central on Friday, but Amherst Central came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Flyers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Tigers. For the Flyers, this counts as revenge for the 12-9 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Isaiah Hill made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Hill wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Daly, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Eli Miller, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Maryvale pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.8 runs this season. As for Amherst Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
