Baseball Recap: Tri-County Has No Trouble Against Rensselaer Central

Tri-County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rensselaer Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Cavaliers blew past the Bombers 7-1 on Saturday. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ian Houser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grayson Schneider, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Foster, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Tri-County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Rensselaer Central, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Tri-County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bombers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
