Football Game Preview: Rapid City Christian Comets vs. Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers

The Rapid City Christian Comets will challenge the Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rapid City Christian will be strutting in after a win while Lead-Deadwood will be coming in after a loss.

Rapid City Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Lakota Tech with a sharp 35-14 victory. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Tatanka: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Lead-Deadwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-15 heartbreaker at the hands of Mobridge-Pollock.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Lead-Deadwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Rapid City Christian against Lead-Deadwood in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golddiggers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
