Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Northside's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Northside rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Leeds Greenwave by a score of 5-0.

Baylee Appling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Appling wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Sharbutt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Claire Jones was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Northside is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-14-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Leeds, they now have a losing record of 17-18.

Northside has already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against St. Clair County on the 6th. Leeds does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
